Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for the Grosse Pointe, MI location. Shift: Monday–Friday, 10:30 PM–7:00 AM with rotational weekends. You will perform moderate/high complexity tests, using independent judgment in specified specialties.

Qualifications

• 1 year full-time experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting.
• 3 years clinical experience with most current year in present department.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in all testing areas and troubleshoot instruments.
• Support QC, troubleshoot problems, assist in training and process improvement.
• Perform and report analytical tests per SOP and QC requirements.
• Ensure proper specimen handling, processing, and record-keeping of patient results.
• Maintain turnaround times including STATS/critical results.
• Verify reagent dates and kit statuses.
• Notify supervision of issues in testing procedures.
• Document QC data and instrument performance; determine assay disposition.
• Enter results into LIS for standardized physician reports.
• Maintain safe, clean laboratory environment and equipment.
• Complete training and competency checks; assist with training others.
• Comply with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety requirements.
