Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Royal Oak, MI, seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for a Monday–Friday shift (6:30 AM–3:00 PM) with weekend rotation. You will perform moderate to high complexity tests, exercise independent judgment, and support QC, instrument maintenance, and staff training.

Requirements include 1 year of high-complexity clinical lab experience and MLS/Medical Technology education (BS/AS). Familiarity with LIS and MS Office is expected; ASCP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of high-complexity clinical laboratory experience or training.
• Education as MLS/Medical Technology or related degree; ASCP preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot instruments and use LIS and ERP software.
• ASCP certification preferred; foreign credentials evaluated.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in testing procedures and troubleshooting department instruments.
• Support quality control, instrument maintenance, staff training, and process improvements.
• Perform and report analytical tests per SOP with QC compliance.
• Adhere to specimen handling, data recording and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain turnaround times, including STAT handling and critical results.
