Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist I in Neptune, NJ. This hospital-based role on the night shift (11:00 PM–7:30 AM) includes weekend rotation and training opportunities.

Expected duties include specimen handling, testing, result reporting, and quality control in compliance with CLIA, HIPAA and OSHA guidelines. Requires BS in Medical Technology or related field and ASCP certification or eligibility.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or related field is preferred.
• ASCP certification or eligibility is required.
• 1 year of clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.
• Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
