Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is hiring a Shop Mechanic II in Minnesota to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration systems. The role requires diesel repair experience, ASE PMI certification within 1 year, and a valid driver’s license.

You will diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults, work from service bulletins, and contribute to a safety-conscious shop environment. The position offers a competitive hourly pay rate with a shift premium, comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED or trade school in heavy-duty diesel and refrigeration.
• 2 years diesel repair and refrigeration maintenance experience.
• 1 year fleet maintenance experience or upper-class technician experience.
• Own basic hand tools up to 1/2" drive; ASE PMI certification within 1 year.
• Valid Class C license (Class A preferred).
• Willingness to read and follow service bulletins and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform Grade 4 mechanic functions and preventative maintenance on trailer refrigeration.
• Carry out simple and complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Diagnose, repair, and rebuild components (clutches, water pumps, tires, suspensions, axles, brakes, transmissions).
• Diagnose and tune up diesel engines; perform wheel and axle alignments.
• Read technical manuals, maintain tools, complete paperwork and safety compliance.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and peers; work independently or in a team.
• Be trained and certified to operate required equipment within 30 days of hire.
• Flexible schedule; participate in on-call rotation and road calls.
