Job summary

Kendrit Consulting Group seeks a Mainframe Monitoring Specialist for a night shift (Thu-Mon) to provide continuous operational monitoring and rapid problem determination for enterprise mainframe environments at a large federal agency. This permanent onsite role supports 24x7 availability and coordination with multiple national support centers.

Responsibilities include diagnosing complex issues using dumps and logs, coordinating with software teams and vendors, and maintaining detailed incident

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience.
• Experience with large mainframe environments and peripheral devices.
• Knowledge of z/OS MVS, JES3, MIM, Top Secret.
• Ability to analyze dumps, logs, and performance data.
• Experience using ServiceNow (SNOW) or ITSM tools.
• Ability to work fixed shifts in a 24x7 environment.
• Onsite work at customer location 5 days a week.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous mainframe monitoring and rapid incident response.
• Analyze and troubleshoot real-time system, network, and hardware issues.
• Coordinate with vendors and software teams to resolve OS issues.
• Record incidents in SNOW and support logs within required timeframes.
• Create and update reports, diagrams, and facility-related documentation.
• Attend facilities planning meetings with management and security stakeholders.
• Install/uninstall IT equipment and manage change tickets.
• Prepare work orders for facility modifications for installations.
• Coordinate secure data center access with OPSS personnel.
