Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company seeks an experienced IT operations professional for overnight shift support of Windows, UNIX and mainframe environments. You will plan and manage a functional group, lead initiatives, and ensure continuous service through problem recognition and resolution across client/server, mainframe and open systems.

Responsibilities include batch scheduling, coordinating with applications teams, and developing operational documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of two years additional directly related technical experience is required.
• Six years of experience in the IT field, including technical support of IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the work of the functional group.
• Lead projects and initiatives.
• Provide effective first, second and third-tier problem recognition to ensure continuous service through troubleshooting and resolution.
• Manage, schedule and troubleshoot batch processing jobs utilizing automated scheduling software in mainframe and open systems environments.
• Create and maintain job definitions, interrelationships and calendars.
• Lead the functional team; direct day-to-day activities, and provide guidance and recommendations.
• Provide input into team employee performance reviews.
