Sentara Independence provides quality outpatient services and operates a 24/7/365 central communications hub. We seek an experienced Supervisor, Central Communications, to lead frontline professionals, manage real-time operations, and coordinate emergency and non-emergency communications across the hospital.

This role supports patient care, physician response, and hospital operations. Ideal candidates have five years in emergency/nonemergency communications, including three years in supervisory

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in emergency or nonemergency communications, call center operations, or a high-volume 24/7 environment.
• At least three years in a supervisory, lead, or team leadership role.
• Certification/licensure in Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide supervisory leadership for centralized emergency and nonemergency communications operations during the assigned shift.
• Monitor real-time performance, staffing coverage, and system functionality; manage escalations to ensure service continuity.
• Supervise, coach, and develop frontline team members to achieve performance, quality, and compliance expectations.
• Lead emergency communications, including activation of emergency alerts, physician paging, and Emergency Notification System coordination.
• Partner with Workforce Management, Quality Assurance, and leadership to support standardized operations and continuous improvement.
