Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Hospital Admissions Representative in Paramount, CA, to obtain and verify demographic information, insurance benefits, and eligibility while assigning correct medical records for accurate billing and clinical data.

The role is a part-time position with a set varied night shift, three weekends per month, and rotating holidays; schedules may adjust with patient census. A new BLS certification is required or obtainable within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years experience in medical setting or heavy customer service with data entry skills.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to obtain AVADE training offered by MLK Community Hospital within 30 days from start date.

Responsibilities

• Obtain complete demographic and financial information from patients and sources.
• Obtain required signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
• Enter data, document incomplete admissions/registrations, and obtain pre-certification/authorization numbers.
• Notify patients and family of insurance coverage issues and payment requirements, recording all details.
• Review physician orders for completeness and ensure all information is listed.
• Maintain multiple computer systems and ensure timely completion of duties.
