Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years experience in a medical setting or heavy customer service environment.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association OR ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to obtain AVADE training offered by MLK Community Hospital within 30 days from start date.

Responsibilities

• Obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information from patients and sources.
• Obtain required signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
• Enter data in computer systems and update patient files with pre-certification, referrals or authorizations.
• Notify patients of insurance coverage issues, co-pays, deductibles or deposits needed.
• Review orders for completion and ensure all information is listed.
• Maintain safety and comply with policies and procedures.
