Job summary

Guidehouse seeks a Hospital Admissions Representative in Downey, CA for a part-time, varied night shift. You will collect and verify demographic and financial data, verify insurance benefits, and assign medical records to ensure proper billing and clinical information.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in a medical setting or strong customer service with data entry, plus a BLS certificate or the ability to obtain one within 90 days. AVADE training within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of medical setting or heavy customer service experience with data entry.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to obtain AVADE training within 30 days of start.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong data entry and keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify accurate demographic and financial information from patients and sources.
• Obtain required signatures on consents and insurance forms.
• Enter data, pre-certifications, referrals or authorizations; maintain accuracy.
• Notify patients of insurance coverage issues and co-pays; document in system.
• Review physician orders for completeness and required information.
• Maintain multiple computer systems and ensure timely registrations.
