Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Field Assembly Manager for the third shift at Devens, MA. This on-site leadership role guides night-time tokamak assembly operations and coordinates Millwright, Welding, and Electrical trades to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience.
• 5+ years in a complex manufacturing, assembly, construction, or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, welding, electrical, and industrial assembly processes.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout.

Responsibilities

• Lead third shift assembly operations supporting tokamak construction and integration.
• Coordinate Millwright, Welding, and Electrical union activities during night shift.
• Establish shift priorities based on production schedule and critical-path activities.
• Ensure staffing and sequencing to meet daily and weekly objectives.
• Monitor production progress and address delays, constraints, and resource issues.
• Conduct shift-start meetings communicating priorities and safety concerns.
• Maintain communication between day and night shifts.
• Provide detailed shift reports on progress, downtime, quality concerns, and remaining work.
• Coordinate work across trades to ensure proper sequencing and non-interference.
• Work with union leadership to maintain labor relations.
