Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead Assembly Technician to oversee the SPARC Tokamak assembly, coordinating technician teams in aligning and integrating large coils and vacuum vessels. This role involves hands-on leadership, scheduling, and collaboration with engineers to ensure on-time, high-quality construction of the SPARC device.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a highly technical assembly role in industries such as aerospace, semiconductors, power, or automotive.
• Experience overseeing a team of five or more people and directing end-to-end assembly of large components.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day activity management and coordination of technician teams to complete assembly operations per the schedule.
• Review work orders across mechanical, welding, electrical, and lifting tasks.
• Lead important component lifts and movements on-site with safety and precision.
• Provide daily status updates and shift hand-off reports to the Assembly team.
• Coordinate with engineers, metrology, quality, and outside teams to meet milestones.
• Troubleshoot issues and develop workarounds or escalate as needed.
• Conduct morning briefings and ensure smooth execution of daily plans.
