Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Field Assembly Manager to lead overnight assembly operations for tokamak development and production. You will supervise Millwright, Welders, and Electricians, coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Supply Chain, and drive safe, efficient execution on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field; equivalent leadership experience considered.
• 5+ years in complex manufacturing/assembly/industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, welding, electrical, and industrial assembly processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout.

Responsibilities

• Lead assembly operations for tokamak construction and integration.
• Direct supervision of Millwright, Welding, and Electrical union activities.
• Prioritize shift work based on production schedule and critical-path activities.
• Ensure staffing, sequencing, and execution to meet daily/weekly objectives.
• Monitor progress; address delays, constraints, and resource issues.
• Coordinate with Engineering for clarifications and continuous improvement.
