Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Field Mechanical Engineer on the Assembly Team for the SPARC Tokamak build. You will own and guide the night-shift assembly of complex components, design and procure tools, and coordinate with adjacent teams to keep the process moving.

Based in Devens, MA, this third-shift role runs 3:00 PM–1:00 AM with a 10% differential; you’ll solve problems, ensure tooling availability, and provide manufacturing feedback through formal and informal reviews.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering required.
• 7+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
• 4+ years overseeing an in-progress construction, manufacturing, or assembly/integration process.
• 4+ years of experience with CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Station owner for night-time assembly, managing sequence and changes to support SPARC assembly.
• Procure or build tools and fixtures for upcoming work-stations.
• Provide design feedback to SPARC sub-system designs and participate in design reviews.
