Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead Production Technician for the third shift in Devens, MA to lead a fast-paced team building high-precision electromechanical assemblies for fusion devices.

You will drive quality, safety, and continuous improvement while coordinating with manufacturing engineers and technicians to meet schedules and documentation requirements. Experience in mechanical/electrical assembly, cryogenic systems, and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years in a formal leadership role in manufacturing.
• 6+ years of mechanical/electrical assembly, vacuum, cryogenic systems, epoxy potting, and related skills.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and train a team of technicians and welders to build electromechanical parts focusing on quality, cost, and delivery.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and validate new techniques and processes.
• Assemble production hardware according to procedures, specs, and test instructions.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and drive continuous improvement.
• Use torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, and hand/tools to complete builds.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness standards across work areas.
• Provide feedback to supervisor during biannual reviews.
