Job summary

STI in Newark, NJ is seeking a Desktop Engineer for the 3rd shift (Tuesday to Saturday, 12am–8am) for a 5+ month onsite assignment. You will provide level 1–2 end-user support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and conduct remote problem solving when needed.

Responsibilities include resolving desktop LAN, server, Wi-Fi and connectivity problems; managing Windows Active Directory and Exchange; maintaining asset records; coordinating with vendors; and handling customer calls via phone,

Qualifications

• College degree and/or 4–6 years' end-user support experience.
• Experience solving hardware and software problems for end users.
• Experience with Windows Active Directory & Office 365.
• Experience troubleshooting large enterprise networking issues.
• Experience supporting printers and print systems.
• Familiarity with DHCP, DNS, LAN, WAN networking concepts.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience handling user calls with IVR systems (Avaya preferred).
• Willingness to cover weekend shifts and holidays.
• Basic understanding of ITIL processes (incident, request, change).
• Airwatch MDM experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide level 1–2 desktop and laptop support onsite.
• Troubleshoot desktop LAN, server, Wi‑Fi and connectivity issues.
• Track all requests in the ticketing system and manage phone support.
• Manage Windows Active Directory and Exchange.
• Coordinate with IT staff on maintenance and projects.
• Maintain accurate asset management records.
• Interact with vendors for repair and maintenance of IT equipment.
