Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer for our Glendale, AZ facility on a 2-2-3 night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM). You will act as the on-shift controls expert, diagnosing PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues to keep high-speed packaging lines running safely and reliably.

Lead Tier 1/2 troubleshooting, drive automation improvement projects, mentor maintenance technicians, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering and quality on

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology, information systems, industrial automation and controls, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant industry experience may be considered.
• At least four years of industrial automation or controls experience in high-speed manufacturing environments such as food & beverage or packaging.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience troubleshooting automated production, conveyor, and packaging equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert for automated production lines.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems and networks.
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators; provide technical leadership and training.
• Maintain PLC/HMI backups, electrical drawings and change records.
