Job summary
Electrical Automation Services in Glendale, Arizona, is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support on the 2-2-3 night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. You will serve as the on-shift controls expert, troubleshooting PLC, HMI, VFD, and servo systems across automated bottling and packaging lines.
The role partners with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality to drive reliability, safety, and throughput, and includes mentoring maintenance technicians, project work on controls
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in engineering technology or related field.
- 4+ years in industrial automation for high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming.
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and networks.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
- Diagnose PLC/HMI/VFD/servo issues and implement fixes.
- Develop controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
- Maintain backups, documentation, and change records.
- Support commissioning and system integration projects.
