Job summary

This Glendale, AZ facility is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for night shift to provide dedicated automation support. You will troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, and servo systems, mentor technicians, and lead controls projects to improve throughput and reliability.

Responsibilities include maintaining documentation and backups, collaborating with operations and maintenance, and supporting system upgrades and commissioning. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology, information systems, industrial automation or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in industrial automation or controls in high-speed manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming.
• Experience with automated production, conveyor, packaging equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Excellent communication across plant teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-shift controls expert for automation systems.
• Provide Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting for PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues.
• Diagnose and fix equipment failures to maximize uptime.
• Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators on controls practices.
• Maintain backups and documentation for PLC/HMI programs.
