Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) in Oberlin, KS for a full-time night shift. The NA will provide resident-centered nursing care under RN supervision, assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic health care needs in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include assistive care during transfers, mobility, meals, documentation, and communication of resident changes to the charge nurse.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by training program or ongoing certification.
• Annual continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Assist with basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs, and psychosocial support.
• Assist with transfers, repositioning, and walking using proper techniques.
• Assist with meals and dining, ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Document interactions and care outcomes; communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Participate in wellness and recreational programs; support infection control policies.
