Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Olathe, KS is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for the evening shift in an assisted living setting. The NA provides resident-centered care and daily living support under the charge nurse's supervision.

Responsibilities include bathing, grooming, meals, vital signs, and documenting care; may assist with transfers, mobility, and ROM. Requires CNA certification, 16+ years old, and ongoing CEU credits. Part-time role with rotating shifts and weekend/holiday work.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually).
• When applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
• Dependent on facility, may be Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and valid license.

Responsibilities

• The NA serves as caregiver to residents during the scheduled work period in assisted living.
• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision of a charge nurse.
• Assists with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, recording vital signs, and psychosocial support.
• May assist with transfers, repositioning, walking, range of motion, and equipment use.
• Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining and maintains a positive dining experience.
• Documents outcomes and communicates changes to the charge nurse.
