Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan provides resident-centered care in a long-term care setting under RN supervision. The role includes daily living assistance, vital signs, and coordination with nursing staff to ensure quality care in a Christian environment.

We seek individuals committed to infection control, safety, and compassionate support. Night shifts are available, with a full-time schedule and a comprehensive benefits package for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16 with prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board, or enrolled in a training program to obtain certification within four months.
• CNA training and certification provided by the facility.
• Yearly competency testing and continuing education (minimum 12 hours).
• State registry requirements (UAP) where applicable.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with valid license and driving clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to residents.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, feeding and vital signs.
• Record and communicate changes in resident condition to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, repositioning, and mobility using proper techniques.
• Support infection prevention and PPE use; assist with meals and dining.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and document resident interactions.

Education
