Job summary

Performance Foodservice Lancaster is seeking a Shuttle Driver to move empty trailers to operating locations and promptly turn around to deliver full trailers, following DOT rules. You will drive tandem or tractor trailers on intrastate routes, comply with safety checks, and keep accurate logs.

Requirements include CDL A with Doubles Endorsement, 1+ year driving experience, 21+ years old, and a willingness to work Sunday–Thursday nights.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year or more commercial driving experience
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement
• Must be 21 years of age
• Clean MVR for past 3 years
• Pass pre-employment drug test and road test
• DOT Health Card or able to secure one

Responsibilities

• Performs safety checks on tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations
• Reports safety issues and/or repairs required
• Follows all DOT regulations and company safety guidelines
• Ensures route paperwork is with tractor/trailer load and available to dispatcher
• Drives and delivers trailers according to predetermined route schedule
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas
• Ensures all equipment and freight are secured
• Collects damaged goods and returns in empty trailer for check-in and paperwork
• Unloads equipment and removes trash from trailers
• Completes daily hours of service log
• Performs general housekeeping in vehicle and loading dock area
• Performs other related duties as assigned
