Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiac / Med Surg Unit 4 West. This full-time night shift runs roughly 6pm–6am, with opportunities to shadow and learn on the unit.

The role focuses on delivering patient care under supervision, assisting with admissions and discharges, and monitoring patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions. A high school diploma and BLS certification within 90 days are required, with a preference for candidates

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• One year of prior health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direct supervision of a professional nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes and ensure patient safety practices are followed.
• Observe patients and report any changes in condition to the nurse.
