Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Medicine unit. This full-time, night-shift role involves 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with rotating weekends.

Join a 24-bed Medicine unit handling cardiac, renal, vascular, infectious, and wound-care cases. Duties include patient care, vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with one of the listed certifications.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• One year healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs, mobility, and ambulation support.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and EKG testing.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion and removal and specimen collection.
• Ensure patient safety by following RN directions and reporting changes promptly.
• Document observations accurately and timely.
