Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiac Procedural and Surgical Unit. This full-time night-shift role (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) involves direct patient care, vital signs monitoring, and support for post-surgical cardiac patients in a 24-bed unit.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and applicable certifications (CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, or RN/LPN/RT/PT clinical involvement). BLS certification within 90 days is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Certifications or training: CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, US Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT, RN/LPN/RT/PT clinical program, or recent PCT/Nursing Assistant experience.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Support mobility and ambulation of patients.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Conduct EKG testing and manage IV removal as directed.
