Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Building Engineer I to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. The position requires 2–3 years of related experience or appropriate licenses, familiarity with BAS, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

2-3 years of job-related experience or comparable certification/trade experience.
Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; gaining experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting.
Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and laptop/phone applications for work order systems, email, and training platforms.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and elevate issues as needed.
Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies; handle urgent tenant service requests and support recovery efforts during severe weather and system outages.
