Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Building Engineer I to maintain and troubleshoot building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. You will respond to tenant requests, perform routine tasks, and help keep facilities safe under supervision.

The role requires 2–3 years of related experience, relevant licenses, and preferred CFC certification. Expect on-call duties, documentation responsibilities, and collaboration with senior engineers in a fast-paced property environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of job-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; gaining experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and laptop/phone applications for work order systems, email, and training platforms.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds; able to perform demanding tasks such as stooping, crouching, and kneeling.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and elevate issues as needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies; assist with preventive maintenance tasks and contractor oversight.
• Follow company safety protocols and use PPE; ensure OSHA, NEC, NFC, NFPA compliance; report hazards and participate in safety audits.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies; support recovery during severe weather and outages.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; work with senior engineers and technicians.
• Develop technical skills with senior engineers; participate in training programs.
