Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking an Automation/Controls Engineer for a night shift at our Glendale facility serving the Tempe area. The role supports on‑site automation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across high‑speed beverage equipment.

You will mentor technicians, lead controls upgrades, and ensure safe, reliable operation on 2‑2‑3 nights, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM. Competitive base salary and 20% target bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
• 4+ years in industrial automation or controls in high‑speed manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
• Willingness to work a 2‑2‑3 night schedule.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on‑shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated production, processing, and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, motion‑control, and industrial-network issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and restore production safely and efficiently.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Support high‑speed beverage processing, filling, canning, conveying, and packaging systems.
• Participate in the Management of Change process for controls and modifications.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to maintenance technicians and operators.
