Job summary

Mativ is seeking a Coating Operator to join our production team in Windsor, CT. This role covers full set-up and operation of coating machines, applying adhesives to liners and substrates, and ensuring product quality and process efficiency.

The position requires English fluency, math skills, and the ability to lift and move materials. The shift is Fri-Sun, 6:00pm–6:00am, with benefits and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; fluent in English and basic math and reading skills.
• Ability to set up coating machine and adjust parameters per work order.
• Visually inspect the material and adhesive during coating for defects.
• Good computer skills for data entry; comfortable with measuring devices.
• Ability to lift cartons and operate material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up coating machine using measuring instruments to obtain desired adhesive thickness and width.
• Adjust pressure, tension, and temperature controls to run according to work orders.
• Prepare raw materials and ensure proper handling of adhesives and liners.
• Enter data into the computer system and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Monitor machine operation and quality, flag non-conformances, and inform supervision.
• Complete routine maintenance, changeovers, and housekeeping to maximize safety and efficiency.
• Assist with shift handoffs and communicate activities clearly to the team.
• Follow ISO procedures and participate in continuous improvement programs.
