Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an Access Services Representative 2 to register patients, verify insurance benefits, and collect patient financial responsibilities. The role requires cross-training across areas, mentoring peers, and a focus on accurate data capture.

The position operates on a night schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Saturdays and Sundays, with opportunities to contribute to revenue cycle improvements and patient experience across assigned locations.

Qualifications

• 2 years of healthcare or customer service experience or education equivalency.
• Strong communication and professional telephone etiquette.
• Ability to adapt to multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient interviews to obtain demographics and financial data for registration and billing.
• Verifies patient insurance coverage and determines benefits.
• Calculates and collects patient liability per policy; negotiates payment arrangements when needed.
• Assists patients with directions, escort, or mobility assistance in the facility.
• Ensures compliance with cash handling, payer policies, and patient safety requirements.
• Performs revenue cycle duties across multiple areas/locations as assigned.
