Job summary

The Salvation Army Shelter in Seattle is seeking a dedicated Shelter Supervisor to oversee front desk operations, scheduling, timecards, and payroll preparation. This role reports to the Shelter Program Manager and collaborates with program leadership to ensure smooth daily operations and staff support.

Responsibilities include supervising shelter staff, coordinating shifts, maintaining procedures, and supporting residents in crisis while ensuring compliance with policy and regulatory

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in public contact/customer service.
• 1-year of relatable supervisory experience.
• Demonstrates skilled training in basic Trauma‑Informed Care, Mental Health First Aide, and conflict resolution.
• Four months successful experience as a Salvation Army Shelter Monitor (or related experience).
• Washington State Driver's License required

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of the Off‑Site Shelter Programs staff operational administration under the Shelter Programs Director.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of emergency resources.
• Assist with monitoring, evaluation, and facilitation of changes to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in hiring to cover permanent, temporary, and on‑call staff.
• Provide direct supervision and training for staff assigned.
• Attend and participate in all staff meetings and conduct regular shelter program staff meetings.
• Oversee direct client services and provide policy guidance to staff.
• Provide supportive care to residents experiencing personal crisis.
