Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join Labor & Delivery on a part-time night shift (Mon-Fri, 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.), with 32 hours per pay period.

The RN will provide independent patient care using the nursing process and participate in teaching and quality improvement activities. Minimum requirements include an active Maryland RN license, an Associates degree in Nursing (BSN preferred or to be obtained within 5 years), and BLS.

Qualifications

• Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or compact state.
• Associates degree in Nursing required; Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred or willing to obtain within 5 years of employment
• Min 1 yr Labor & Delivery Nursing Experience Required
• BLS certification is required
• NRP certification required upon hire or within 90 days
• C-EFM certification required upon hire or within 1 yr of employment

Responsibilities

• Assesses the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning of patients according to nursing standards.
• Uses nursing knowledge to identify patient needs and prioritizes treatment.
• Provides initial assessment and reassessments according to organizational standards.
• Communicates patient status and plan of care to the health care team in a timely manner.
• Incorporates discharge planning and education into the plan of care.
