Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory care program or NBRC policy-compliant alternative.
• RRT credential with NBRC and NC licensure as an RCP required.
• BLS required.
• PALS and NRP must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides respiratory therapies per age-appropriate standards and hospital policies.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation and airway support.
• Reports routine procedures to relief personnel to ensure continuity of care.
• Performs and maintains competency for point-of-care testing and adheres to regulations.
• Provides invasive and non-invasive monitoring for patient safety.
• Maintains ongoing professional knowledge and pursues quality improvement.
• Delivers age-specific patient care according to Age-Specific Care Guidelines.
