Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC and licensed to practice as an RCP in North Carolina.
• BLS required.
• PALS and NRP required within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and promotes cooperative teamwork through communication and collaboration.
• Provides respiratory therapies following age-appropriate standards of care and policies.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation and airway support per age-specific standards.
• Reports routine clinical procedures to relief personnel to ensure continuity of care; performs point-of-care testing when assigned.
• Provides invasive and non-invasive monitoring to ensure patient safety and appropriateness of care.
• Maintains professional knowledge and quality improvement to enhance service.
• Ensures age-appropriate patient care per Age-Specific Care Guidelines.
