Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Production Lead for the Ames, IA facility to manage the night shift and drive efficient operation of the assigned production department. You will direct hourly workers, train staff, uphold safety standards, and coordinate labor and equipment utilization to meet goals.

Responsibilities include reporting downtime and scrap, and ensuring quality and productivity targets are met. Internal advancement and relocation may be available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Three to five years’ experience in a production environment.
• Training and Leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs hourly employees performing various production operations.
• Administers all rules, programs and procedures for direct reports.
• Responsible for on-the-job training of employees.
• Instructs new or reassigned employees in equipment operation.
• Maintain labor within assigned department levels.
• Reassigns labor on idle equipment to control labor variance.
• Observe production operations for quality/safety/compliance.
• Take corrective action to eliminate deviations.
• Report downtime, scrap and machine quality data to supervisor.
