Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for a full-time night shift, providing bedside support and daily living assistance to patients. The PCA will monitor vital signs, assist with meals and mobility, and support the care team in a fast-paced hospital environment.

This role emphasizes patient safety, infection control, and communication with RNs to identify changes in patient conditions.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate care and principles of infection control.

Responsibilities

• Provide activities of daily living and mobility assistance to designated patients.
• Continuous observation and safety monitoring, including suicide prevention where applicable.
• Report abnormalities or changes to the RN or charge nurse for rapid treatment.
• Maintain clean, orderly patient surroundings and adhere to infection control procedures.
