Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care on a full-time night schedule. Duties include assisting with meals, hygiene, mobility, and linen changes, while supporting the bedside RN with vital signs and safety monitoring.

As part of a caring team in a leading hospital system, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment, uphold infection control standards, and participate in ongoing development opportunities and tuition

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care procedures.
• Proficient interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a high workload with multiple interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks and assist with meal ordering and nutrition for patients.
• Encourage walking and assist with baths and personal hygiene.
• Provide clean linens and gowns to patients.
• Support bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and reporting abnormalities.
• Maintain patient safety with gait belts, bed and chair alarms, and staying within arm's reach.
