Job summary

Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA is seeking a Part Time Patient Care Associate (PCA) for 7pm-7:30am to perform direct and non-direct patient care, plus clerical, supply, and messenger duties. The role may include 1:1 observation for patient safety and telemetry monitoring.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, and relevant healthcare or nursing assistant certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Ability to perform routine patient care under licensed nursing personnel.
• Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant certification, or active nursing student with 6 months clinical exp.
• 6 months to 1 year nursing assistant experience required.
• Secretarial experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and handle stress effectively.
• Demonstrated typing and computer skills.
• Strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct and non-direct patient care duties as assigned.
• Assist with clerical, supply, and messenger tasks.
• Monitor patient safety and may serve as 1:1 observer as needed.
• Complete arrhythmia course and maintain telemetry competency.
• Follow unit policies and maintain professional demeanor.
