Job summary

Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA is seeking a Patient Care Associate for part-time night shifts (7pm–7:30am). The PCA will perform direct and clerical duties, assist with patient care, and support telemetry and critical care needs while ensuring safety and adherence to unit policies.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS, and nursing assistant or related clinical experience; non-certified applicants may qualify with appropriate training and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Ability to perform routine patient care activities under supervision.
• Nursing assistant or medical assistant cert, or nursing student with 6+ months clinical experience.
• Six months to one year nursing assistant experience required.
• 1–3 years secretarial experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and handle stress effectively.
• Demonstrated typing skills and computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct and non-direct patient care duties and clerical tasks.
• Monitor patient safety and assist as a 1:1 observer if required.
• Maintain telemetry readiness and competency for critical care scenarios.
• Report to Nurse Manager and follow unit policies and procedures.
