Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking an experienced Night Shift RN to supervise and develop nursing staff, manage daily unit activities, and coordinate patient services for high-quality outcomes. The role requires an active RN license, BLS, and ALS/ACLS with NRP and fetal monitoring training.

You will oversee staffing, policy compliance, and budget considerations while collaborating with physicians and administration to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

• Must have current RN license or valid compact RN license
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from recognized organizations
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification on hire
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification on hire
• Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring Training on hire

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily management of unit activities and staff supervision
• Develop staff schedules to maximize utilization and service quality
• Directly supervise time, attendance and patient care activities of nursing and ancillary staff
• Provide clinical role modeling and educational support to staff
• Ensure compliance with Parkland, Joint Commission and clinical area policies and regulations
• Identify and analyze workflow design; implement changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Assist in policy development and staff education to ensure rule compliance
• Foster collaborative relationships with physicians, administration and risk management
• Oversee facility management and equipment maintenance to ensure safety
• Participate in annual budget development and monitor supplies and charges
• Contribute to unit goals aligned with Parkland mission and committees
