Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts (36 hours/week) at the Main Hospital building. The role requires active RN licensure in Texas, BLS for Healthcare Providers, and at least two years of nursing experience, preferably in an acute care setting.

The RN will coordinate patient care, assess needs, develop care plans, and ensure timely, safe patient transitions.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Two years of nursing experience.
• Current RN license in Texas or valid compact license; BLS certification required.
• SAMA certification level 1-4 within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care per the Texas Nursing Practice Act.
• Coordinate care with the health care team and monitor patient status.
• Engage in shift hand-offs and ensure accurate documentation.
• Serve as Charge Nurse on rotation when assigned.
• Precept and train new nursing staff.
• Discharge planning and patient education.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
