Job summary

Insteel Industries is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift (10pm–6am) in a heavy manufacturing environment. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial mechanical systems and equipment.

You will fabricate parts, align gears, fit bearings, and ensure equipment runs within quality specs while adhering to ALARA safety goals. The ideal candidate has at least three years of maintenance experience, with a high school diploma plus apprenticeship or

Qualifications

• Three years of industrial machinery maintenance experience required.
• Broad technical training (high school plus 1–2 years of apprenticeship/applied trades).
• Two years minimum mechanical experience in manufacturing; multi-craft preferred.
• Equivalent education/experience may be acceptable.
• CMMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain industrial automation machinery and robotics.
• Inspect equipment for proper operation and mechanical integrity.
• Read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Troubleshoot components and diagnose system failures.
• Apply knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Carry out other mechanical duties as assigned.
• Work independently and follow safety procedures.
