Job summary

Insteel Industries is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial mechanical systems in a heavy manufacturing setting. You will fabricate parts for overhaul, perform routine maintenance, and ensure equipment meets quality specs and performance targets.

You will read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, understand LOTO procedures, and troubleshoot to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years of industrial machinery maintenance experience.
• Broad technical training (high school plus 1–2 years of apprenticeship or applied trades training).
• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment; multi-craft preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
• Organizational experience with CMMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain industrial automation machinery and robotics.
• Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity.
• Read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Have a working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Troubleshoot components and diagnose system failures.
• Basic knowledge of electrical components and concepts.
• Possess knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform other mechanical duties as assigned.
• Work independently and ensure safe operation within ALARA guidelines.
