Job summary

Parkland Health seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse for full-time night shifts from 6 PM to 6 AM, rotating. The LVN provides total nursing care under guidance of a registered nurse to ensure quality patient care in a dynamic health system.

The role requires a valid LVN license (Texas Board of Nursing or Compact) and current BLS. Experience is not required, but strong communication and patient-centered care are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• LVN license with Texas Board or Compact LVN license.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Screen and prioritize patients by medical problems and follow physician orders and policies.
• Assist with inpatient/clinic coordination and patient flow, including treatments and discharges.
• Maintain compliance with nursing regulations, policies, and Joint Commission standards.
• Identify educational needs of patients and families and provide information and teaching as needed.
• Assist with precepting new staff and students as directed by supervisor.
• Complete documentation per established procedures and guidelines.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely, appropriate patient care and workflow.
• Prepare and stock supplies for patient care and assist with ordering when needed.
• Clean and sterilize patient areas and instruments to maintain a safe environment.
• Support process improvements and pursue annual goals for the nursing area.
