Job summary

Staples is seeking a Lead Material Handling Equipment Operator in Tampa, FL to mentor material handlers and fill in for supervisors as needed. You will operate forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move product while maintaining safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced warehouse.

You must have MHE certification and be able to work overtime as required. Strong teamwork, safety practices, and physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 12+ months related experience in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to pass a drug screen.
• If you are hired as a Full-Time associate, you must have the ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; overtime hours will be required based on business need.
• Ability to lift, push or pull equipment/merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Must wear safety composite work shoes.
• Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Material Handling Equipment Operator, mentor and train new material handlers and fill in for supervisors as needed.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move product within the warehouse while adhering to safety procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace and ensure safety practices are followed across the team.
• Contribute to Staples Supply Chain success by delivering to customers with efficiency and accuracy.
