Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a laboratory support technician for the on-site Pathology department. The role involves processing specimens, performing CLIA waived tests under direct supervision, and entering results in the Laboratory Information System.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, plus 2 years in a clinical setting with data processing and specimen handling. Training in health/medical assisting is preferred. Shift is Monday–Friday, 8 pm–12 am; on-site work in California.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED and 2 years in a clinical environment with data processing/specimen handling experience.
• Graduate of health/medical assistant or similar training program taught lab techniques.

Responsibilities

• Performs CLIA waived laboratory testing under direct supervision and enters results.
• Completes work according to SOPs and prioritizes STAT/Emergency requests.
• Assists with basic technical duties related to QC and notifies a technologist of discrepancies.
• Calibrates pipettes and thermometers and records data per SOPs.
• Prepares reagents/controls for testing and collects specimens for analysis.
• Maintains inventories and notifies shortages.
• Trains/new staff and handles regulatory documentation.
• Performs logs and investigates problem specimens.
