Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine seeks a Laboratory Assistant to support specimen preparation and basic testing under supervision. The role requires accurate labeling, timely processing, and adherence to SOPs within a clinical lab setting.

Responsibilities include handling specimens (blood, urine, feces, etc.), maintaining supplies, and assisting in training new staff. Prior experience and CLIA knowledge are appreciated for efficient workflow in a busy hospital laboratory.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience requirements reflect CLIA moderate complexity testing eligibility.
• English reading and writing proficiency required.
• Ability to use LIS and other software programs.

Responsibilities

• Performs CLIA classified moderately complex laboratory testing under direct supervision of a technologist.
• Recognizes and corrects instrument malfunctions within the operator's manual.
• Performs testing designated by the department with accuracy and SOP adherence.
• Prioritizes work to respond to STAT/Emergency requests.
• Keeps accurate records and communicates results and discrepancies promptly.
