Job summary

Pine Street Inn in Boston is seeking a Front Desk Counselor to maintain the front desk operations for the Men's Inn, welcome guests and visitors, and respond to inquiries with a service-oriented approach.

You will operate an electronic entry monitoring system and multi-line phone system, log shift activities, create guest IDs, and coordinate with on-site security while helping guests access shelter services and housing referrals.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED: High School diploma or GED.
• REQUIRED: Effective computer skills/knowledge.
• REQUIRED: Minimum one year experience working with homeless population.
• PREFERRED: Bilingual in any language; MA driver's license is not applicable here.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, staff and visitors at the Men's Inn front desk, in person and by phone.
• Operate electronic entry monitoring system and multi-line phone system; log shift activities.
• Create guest IDs and enter information into Pine Street data system; coordinate with security and other departments.
• Assist guests with accessing services (food, clothing, medical care, referrals) and ensure a safe, secure environment.
• Respond to concerns in a timely, professional manner and support housing referrals.
