Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock worker to move freight across the dock area to and from trailers, using forklift and manual equipment as needed.

Essential duties include verifying freight documentation, securing loads inside trailers, assisting customers, and performing hostling when required. The role requires a high school diploma (preferred), the ability to lift heavy loads, and the stamina for a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or fork lift operations preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using equipment including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description using current electronic or manual system.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
